If you’re an adventure and nature lover, be sure to take a short drive to the Werrikimbe National Park while you’re in Port Macquarie. This park is lucky enough to feature one of the only rainforests in the world that are protected by the World Heritage Centre. Bring your cameras because there is plenty of beautiful wildlife to see. You can also camp in one of three campgrounds within the park, or take a 4WD tour through the rainforest.

If you’re after a taste of history put this place on your itinerary! The Port Macquarie Historic Courthouse was built in 1896 and was designed by James Barnet – one of Australia’s top architects. This piece of history served the community for 117 years and to this day is the only remaining Government building in Port Macquarie from the last century.
